A graduate of the University of Waterloo in History and of both George Brown and Humber Colleges in Archival Practices and Arts Administration and Management, Maggie Mackenzie has managed the Heritage Services section for the City of Richmond Hill since 2007, including the operation of the Dunlap Observatory
